Prof. Chitra Weddikkara – Head of School and Dean of School

Prof Chitra Weddikkara is the former Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, University of Moratuwa, and former Head of the Department of Building Economics, University of Moratuwa. She is also the Immediate Past President of the Institute of Quantity Surveying Sri Lanka, President of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects and the Chairperson of the RICS Chapter in Sri Lanka. She holds the Chair of Professor of Quantity Surveying, University of Moratuwa and is the Dean/Academic Director of the Colombo School of Construction Technology. She is a Charted Quantity Surveyor and holds a PhD in (-YEAR-) from (-YEAR-). She is well connected to the Sri Lankan construction industry and has over 30 years experience working in the Built Environment Industry.

Darshani Amarabandhu

Darshani Amarabandhu is the Manager – Academic Support and Internal Verification at Colombo School of Construction Technology. She is a full time Senior Lecturer at Colombo School of Construction Technology and conduct lectures in both BSc and BTEC HND programmes. She joined CSCT in 2010 and has qualified in MSc in Quantity Surveying (RICS Accredited) from University of Salford, UK. She has over 28 years of experience in the construction industry which includes 08 years in academia.

Maneka Guneratne

Maneka Guneratne has a MSc in Project Management in Construction from the University of Salford UK, a Masters in International Studies from the University of Sydney and a Masters in International Social Development from the University of New South Wales. She has experience working for several international organisations including the United Nations Development Program and Legal Aid Commission New South Wales. She has extensive experience in program delivery and knowledgeable of the university system. She is the program/administration director for the Colombo School of Construction Technology and the focal point for the University of Salford Partnership. She also teaches in the BSc (hons) in Quantity Surveying in the modules of Professional project 1 & 2 and teaches Communication to HND students.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Architect Susil Weddikkara, a visionary Chartered Architect, Urban and Regional Planner and Project Manager with over 30 years of experience in Sri Lanka and abroad.
As Head of School at the Colombo School of Construction Technology, he was a passionate educator and mentor who shaped the minds of future professionals. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he influenced and the landmark projects he helped bring to life—both locally and internationally.
We truly miss him. His wisdom, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence will never be forgotten. His guidance will continue to lead us toward the best in all we do.
